Run the school.
Understand every learner.
Improve learning.

SmartSakuu gives low-digital-maturity schools infrastructure to create reliable learner records, then uses AI to help teachers identify learning gaps, prepare lessons informed by actual class performance, guide targeted student learning, and measure whether support worked.

The platform connects the learner’s school journey in one record so schools can spot learning gaps earlier, intervene with the right support, and track whether that support is working.

Built for school leaders, teachers, students and parents. Starting in Ghana.

The problem

Schools often know the result. They do not always see the pattern behind it.

In many schools, learner information is spread across paper registers, spreadsheets, report cards, notebooks and the knowledge of individual staff members.

A school may record attendance, fees and examination results, yet still struggle to see:

  • which learners are beginning to fall behind
  • which topics they repeatedly struggle with
  • whether attendance or disengagement is becoming a warning sign
  • what support has already been provided
  • whether that support helped
  • which learners may be at risk of dropping out
Illustrative learner record · JHS 2B
48%

A learner scores 48%
in Mathematics.

The school knows the score. But the score alone does not show whether that learner has struggled with Algebra across several assessments, whether performance is declining, whether attendance has changed, what support was previously provided, or whether that support worked.

There is more to this learner’s story.
Algebra
Weak across the last three assessments. The score doesn’t show which topic keeps causing difficulty.
Performance
61% last term, 48% now. Declining. One score doesn’t show the trend.
Attendance
96%. No change.Attendance sits in a paper register.
Support provided
Extra algebra practice last term. What was tried sits in a teacher’s notebook.
Did it work?
Not yet. The algebra gap persists. No one can easily tell whether the support helped.

The pattern is visible: a persistent algebra gap that last term’s support has not closed.Schools often know what happened. The harder question is why it keeps happening and what should happen next.

A learner should not have to struggle repeatedly before someone sees the pattern.

The information needed to see that pattern may already exist somewhere in the school. It may also never have been captured in a form the school can use.

SmartSakuu closes the gap between what a school records and what it can understand and act on.

Why this matters

Learning gaps become harder to address when they are seen too late.

Many learners move through school carrying unresolved difficulties from one term to the next.

60%+

of children in Ghana do not achieve basic literacy and numeracy by the end of primary school.

11.6 → 5.7

expected years of schooling translate into about 5.7 effective learning years.

The challenge is not simply collecting more data.It is making the information schools already generate useful early enough to intervene and support the learner.
Why digitize the school?

Because useful AI starts with reliable information.

If attendance stays in a paper register, assessment history in spreadsheets, interventions in teachers’ notebooks and important context in people’s heads, neither the school nor AI has a reliable picture to work from.

That is why school management is not separate from SmartSakuu’s learning proposition. It creates the digital foundation.

SmartSakuu brings everyday school processes into one environment:

  • Admissions
  • Student records
  • Attendance
  • Fees and payments
  • HR
  • Assessments
  • Examinations
  • Curriculum
  • Teaching and learning
  • Reporting

As the school operates, those activities progressively create a continuous educational record for each learner.

Start with the school’s practical needs.

Schools need reliable systems whether or not they are ready to use AI. Schools can begin with the capabilities they need and expand over time.

  1. The operational system is the entry point.
  2. The learner record becomes the intelligence foundation.
  3. AI and learning tools expand the value.

One learner. One record.
More useful every term.

A learner’s record should show more than marks. One assessment can contribute to a report card, reveal a persistent weak topic, inform the teacher’s next lesson, shape the learner’s revision and help a parent understand where support is needed.

The records used to run the school become records that help the learner.

It connects

  • What was taughtGES / NaCCA curriculum and lessons
  • How the learner performedTests, examinations and continuous assessment
  • What support was providedInterventions, revision and practice
  • School recordsAdmissions, attendance and fees

See the gap. Support the learner. See what changed.

  1. Identify the gap
  2. Provide support
  3. Reassess
  4. See what changed
  5. Decide what comes next

The aim is not simply to record results. It is to help schools follow what happened after the result.

What SmartSakuu changes

One connected record. Different value for each person.

School leaders

See academic and operational information without rebuilding the picture from paper files, spreadsheets and separate reports.

Ask the School AI: “Which learners need academic support this term, and which learning gaps appear most often?”

See School AI

Teachers

See what the class struggled with before planning what comes next. SmartSakuu combines curriculum requirements with relevant class performance to support more targeted teaching.

See the lesson planner

Students

Receive revision, AI tutoring and BECE/WASSCE preparation focused on the topics that need the most attention instead of treating the entire syllabus equally.

Parents

Move beyond:

“Your child is performing poorly.”

toward:

“This is where your child needs help, this is what the school is doing, and this is how you can support them.”

AI in context

AI that starts with school context.

Generic AI starts with a blank prompt. SmartSakuu works with the curriculum, assessment history, topic performance and learning activity the school already holds.

A context-aware AI lesson planner

SmartSakuu can draft lesson plans, lesson notes, activities, quizzes, assignments and differentiated exercises.

  • Generic AI can generate:“A lesson plan on Linear Equations.”
  • SmartSakuu can help prepare:“The next Linear Equations lesson for this JHS 2 class, focusing on the concepts learners struggled with in the previous assessment and providing additional activities for those who need more support.”
  • The teacher stays in controlThe teacher reviews, adapts and approves the material before use.

Exam preparation

BECE and WASSCE preparation that responds to the learner.

Exam preparation should not always begin with the entire syllabus again. SmartSakuu can use assessment history and learning performance to help students focus on the areas where they need the most work.

Students can access:

  • Past questions
  • Timed practice
  • Mock examinations
  • Guided revision
  • AI tutoring
  • Topic-based practice

Incentives reinforce meaningful learning activity, consistency and improvement, rather than rewarding participation alone.

SmartSakuu is currently deployed in schools in Ghana’s Upper West Region. It is built around GES/NaCCA curriculum structures, supports BECE/WASSCE preparation, and has a partnership with the Wa Municipal branch of the Ghana National Association of Private Schools (GNAPS).

We are using these deployments to improve the product and measure what changes for schools, teachers and learners.

Built around Ghanaian schools. Designed to localize.

SmartSakuu starts with Ghanaian education:

  • GES/NaCCA curriculum
  • BECE and WASSCE
  • Local school workflows
  • Local payment channels
  • Multilingual support

The immediate focus is to make the model work well and demonstrate measurable value in Ghana. From there, curricula, examinations, languages, payment methods and school workflows can be localized for other African education systems.

The school’s knowledge should not disappear when people leave.

Student history, attendance, academic progress, interventions and institutional information should remain usable even when teachers or administrators change.

SmartSakuu helps the school retain:

  • What happened
  • What was tried
  • What changed
  • What still needs attention
A question for School AI

“How has Mathematics performance changed over the last three years?”

SmartSakuu uses authorized historical records to show trends and persistent weak areas, linked to the classes, assessments and interventions behind them.

An example question. Answers depend on the records available to the school.

AI supports people. People remain responsible.

SmartSakuu is designed so that educational decisions remain with teachers and school leaders.

Teacher control

AI-generated lesson plans, notes, quizzes and activities remain drafts until reviewed by the teacher.

Role-based access

Users only see information appropriate to their role. Parents see information about their own child.

Human oversight

AI supports teaching, learning and analysis. It does not make autonomous high-stakes decisions about learners.

Context with boundaries

AI works with the curriculum and educational information the user is authorized to access.
